I saw this doc years ago and it change my perspective not only on diamonds themselves but also the concept of “perceived value”. Sometimes when we learn that something is not what it seems, it hurts. For some it might be almost impossible to imagine the the diamond, which we are taught from a young age, is a rare and highly desirable stone, is in fact, a common element.
